What the check uses—and what it does not yet
Job posting
Observed job-posting details can inform a pre-application check. Only current, reviewed posting restrictions are treated as reviewed evidence. Confirm any citizenship, residency, or sponsorship restriction with the employer.
Employer information
Reviewed E-Verify evidence and H-1B history can inform the check when available. If STEM OPT depends on E-Verify participation, confirm the employer's current status directly.
Your information
We ask about your current post-completion OPT or STEM OPT situation, timing, and future sponsorship need. A short setup can be completed even when you are not sure; the result may still need more information.
Past H-1B filings do not guarantee sponsorship for a specific role.
Missing information isn't the same as a negative result.
If we can't verify something important, we don't automatically treat it as a negative fact. We may show Check first instead.
For example, an E-Verify status we could not verify is not the same as evidence that an employer is not enrolled.
